Dear Friends:

There are several wonderful posts tonight: smart, eloquent, and bull's-eye
accurate.

Kudos for Pam, for delineating the difference in environments that permits
or prohibits a nursing baby. I believe Diane W. made a similar
comment.......I don't want my neurosurgeon taking time out of a brain to
nurse her baby. And then to follow up THAT post with the one about exclusive
breastfeeding and how women don't know, because they are not told, that
formula is bad for babies.

Formula contains things that hurt our precious babies and impair their
health and growth and development.

Women need to know this. They may still choose to use formula, just as folks
choose to continue using tobacco, and that is their prerogative.

I dream of the day a mob of furious mothers and families lobby for milk
banks and milk depots in every city, and when wet-nursing is an honored
profession. That can happen only when the truth is told.

Finally, a big shout-out to Alison, for sharing that lovely hitch-hiking
story. The world is often delightful, and the delight shared makes it even
better!!

warmly,
