It was a long day at work today, and I relaxed afterwards by reading the
nine LN digests in my inbox when I got home. First I read Kerry's post
about breastfeeding phobia, which for me led to a light bulb moment. I have
never thought of it like that before. And, Kerry, it didn't cross my mind
that you were making an apologistic case on behalf of the 'phobes. But
then, it is so un-PC here to speak ill of breastfeeding that I am spared
what Heather describes suffering through for decades, so I may be more
magnanimous for that reason.
The ensuing discussion between Kerry, Tina, Morgan, Jo-Anne and Heather was
the high point of this lactophile's day. (If we can have phobes, we can
have philes, right?) The combination of top-flight writing, focus on topic,
impeccable netiquette in the presentation of each person's arguments, and of
course passion about breastfeeding was unbeatable. If there were a place
where e-mail discussion lists were reviewed like books or films or
restaurants I would be giving this list five stars and putting it the top of
My Favorite Things.

Who learned today that there may be a health professional in my institution
with crippling, malignant lactophobia, and who is considering invoking the
Workplace Safety Act to protect breastfeeding mothers from him
