My ethical dilema is that I use handouts from Medela and Ameda and the
LLL/Lansinoh handout that comes with a free sample of Lansinoh.

Should I give these up in order to be consistent in my message?

Absolutely, Renee, but many will disagree with me !

Childbearing families are subject to constant commercialisation of
parenting, and I'm sure there are excellent commercial-free handouts, or you
could write your own.

Whilst some might say that all the companies you mentioned 'support'
breastfeeding, there is absolutely no need to support the barrage of
advertising through the health system. With these materials, your
breastfeeding promotion comes in a package 'hand in hand' with accessories
like pumps and the other product.

I do know of (Australian) hospitals that will ask companies to come and
collect their 'free' samples of products for babies/mothers sent in, or
dropped off by reps.
