reading about this baby i am reminded of some of the things majorie meyer
palmer mentioned in her course i recently took. many of her case studies were
to point out that a child who "won't" eat usually "cannot" eat due to
physical causes. a lot of children she described had been treated in various
ways sometimes for years, before anyone pinpointed the physical reasons for
the eating difficulties. so perhaps some real persistence in getting thorough
evaluations would be good before trying to figure out how to get the food in.
she was also not big on the toothbrush thing, said eating is about eating,
not about sticking things in the baby's mouth. (i gather there is a lot of
theoretical discussion in this field about using such devices to treat these
problems).
