Kirsten...

One other thought for when a mother (or her BF supporter) appear to be at a
point of decision making... I often suggest that a mother (or whomever)
project herself 6-12 months in the future. How does she feel about the
decision she's about to make later on -- in the future? Is she comfortable
with her decision, or does she wish she'd waited, tried something else, or
kept doing the same thing but for more time? Most women really can imagine
the future, and it really can help them make an appropriate decision in the
now.

Once a person makes a decision -- on her own -- my job is merely to support
her and her decision. (I don't have to agree, although I sometimes do, in
order to support.) Then, no matter what the decision, I also reinforce what
the mother and babies have already accomplished.

BTW, if possible (and no matter what the overall situation), taking a photo
or two with a mother (even sort of) BF one/both babies is an incredibly
positive memory maker!
