i have heard several experts say it is okay to use herbal and prescription
galactagogues together, most notably dr. jack, who routinely has patients
using the herbals and domperidone together. i have two clients using them
both, as well, and tell mothers they can consider using reglan and the
herbals at the same time.

about pumps, i must say that, since i do not sell or rent pumps (major
ethical questions about this, too), i appreciate knowing other opinions about
the various ones. this would be sort of like not discussing drugs by brand
name, if we were pharmacists. after all, pumps are unfortunately or
fortunately, a major tool of our trade.

but, i keep finding that if a mother is having trouble producing enough milk
or keeping up her supply, she is often using a lactina, and her problems
improve with a bigger pump. i have a new client tomorrow, using a lactina. i
advise people to get the double classic pump if they are having a problem; i
would hate for the pump to be the cause of failure, when that is something so
easily remedied (and yes, i have had clients use the lactina and fix the
other problems and still not get as much until they switched pumps, but i
know this isn't much of a population to survey, see why other people's input
is so important?).

so if surgeons have a surgnet (sounds like sewing machine), wouldn't they
discuss which type of sutures they like best and tell each other if they
found that some brand caused problems? how about your car mechanic, would you
want him or her to not discuss parts by brand name, and maybe not know that
one was faulty and put it in your car? i haven't noticed any lightning
striking anyone for mentioning brand names (i better watch out, we are having
a stormy night here).
