An additional note about the Milky Way being formed by a particularly
forceful milk ejection...... in the Ruben's painting, the nursling is a
robust toddler.  Think about it, almost all the depictions of nursing babies
 from the Renaissance on through the 19th century show chubby, older babies,
usually barely clothed or naked.   Social historians take note!  Just
speculating here, but it would seem that normal breastfed babies were plump
and healthy; mothers practiced baby-wearing (babies always being held, the
lack of protective clothing); and babies were breastfed well into the second
year of life and longer.
Also, for you etymology freaks out there please note that GALAXY and GALACTO
(as in, galactogogues, galactorrhea, etc.) are from the same Greek root
...... "galakt-, gala" meaning milk, akin to Latin "lac" also meaning milk.
My younger daughter's word for BF was milky-side.  When she was a baby I used
to ask her if she wanted some milky.   After she finished on the first
breast, I'd ask if she wanted the other side.  So when she started talking,
she called nursing milky-side, as in "I want some milky-side" or "I forgot my
milky-side".
