I am working with a mom that is having a long tough first week.
*Baby is 9 days old
*Bili level went up to 17 and Dr. told her to wean for two weeks and she
did on Friday.
*Bili levels went down to 13 after 1 day and 8 after 3 days
*Dr. says that baby still needs to not nurse even with a bili of 8
*Mom then had an episode with her back a couple of days ago, and found out
she has a herniated Lumber disc.
*Dr. put her on meds and now she is scared to resume BF because she is not
sure about their safety

Meds are:
Duract- 1 tablet every 6-8 hours
Medrol- hasn't gotten the RX filled yet, so not sure of dose.

This mom is wanting to start nursing again, as baby is very comforted at
the breast (her words). I could not find these meds in Hale or BAB. Mom
wants to know what her options are as far as other meds if these are not
compatible. She is willing to pump and dump if she has to. Any suggestions?
