A new friend told me of her experience attempting to breastfeed her son,
a healthy, full-term newborn. She insists that the baby did not learn
to suck. She ended up feeding him formula with a 3-holed nipple so he'd
get nourishment. Even as a toddler, he couldn't handle the sippy cups
with the no-drip inserts that he had to suck hard to get the contents.
Sounds weird to me. I don't know any details as far as what he was
offered in the newborn nursery as far as supplements. I do know she put
him on an Ezzo-schedule. Anyone heard of this? How do you overcome it?
It's rather irrelevant to her now, as the baby is 4 years old, but I'm
interested for educational reasons.
Thanks ~ Heidi
