Elaine, this might be a good place for the tactic that's been suggested
recently: the mother could ask the surgeon to produce *his* references
backing up his claim about the effects of prolactin.  *And* showing that it
is not merely a hypothetical issue but causes actual problems.
And if he still sticks in his heels, does she have the option of going
anywhere else for the surgery?  Patient walks, money talks.
