Hi Everyone!

Our 6 month old baby girl Lily has been home with us for almost 2 weeks from
Korea...SHE IS BEAUTIFUL and FUN and SWEET and LOUD and she is NURSING! We
are using donor milk and a Lact-aid now. First did skin to skin in sling,
then bottle fed skin to skin while slipping naked breast into her mouth when
she was sleepy, then bottle feeding with bottle nipple next to breast, still
offering naked breast when she seemed happy and sleepy.... then she started
to take the breast and nurse for up to a minute Saturday and Sunday. Got the
Lact-aid working yesterday! Lily has had 5 good feedings with expressed
donor milk at the breast...it is wonderful, yet stressful during the day
since she is 6 months old and pulls off the breast like 6 month old babies
are known to do-- it is hard to get a quiet moment with all the commotion of
our home (7 year old boy, 5 year old girl and still nursing 3 year old
boy)...I am taking domperidone (started 2 weeks ago) and More Milk Plus a
week and a half ago.

anyway, anyone with personal experience with the lact-aid? I have so many
practical questions:

How long can I wear a bag of expressed thawed milk around?

I have been taking off the LA unit and soaking it in boiled water to clean
it - not taking it apart - not using distilled water... are either big
problems?

Not sure about taping the tube to breast - any tricks of the trade on
getting the tube in baby's mouth - and staying in baby's mouth? where do you
prefer on baby's mouth that the straw go? Lact-aid says not in corner of
baby's mouth... I have been having her latch and then slipping the "straw"
in her mouth to suck. I get milk drops a lot - any tricks on how to avoid
spillage?

I am a newbie at this and open to all suggestions!

Much love,
