At 4 months old this baby was a little young to be on solids, but seems
to enjoy it.  Mom might try nursing baby when he is asleep or almost
asleep to see if he would be less fussy.  She might also try to take a
bath with him.  Any kind of skin-skin contact would help.

Congrats to all you new IBCLC's.  One more question:  what do all you
lactnetters feel about training breastfeeding peer counselors (PCs)?  We
had a very successful, albeit small PC program.  A lactation consulatant
at my new facility only wants "professionals" to help bf mothers on our
unit.  I think if they are properly trained with the same training that
the units nurses get, they are better than some of the nurses because
they WANT to help bf mothers.  Let me know how you feel.
