Judy Richie sent good article supporting the awareness that infants
and children need affectionate adult humans in order to feel safe.
(Once again, science proving the obvious.)

"According to the study, which followed nearly 500 infants into their
30s, babies who receive above-average levels of affection and
attention from their mothers are less likely than other babies to
grow up to be emotionally distressed, anxious, or hostile adults. "

[To Wiessingerize it: "...babies who receive below average levels of
affection and attention from their mothers are more likely than other
babies to grow up to be emotionally distressed, anxious, or hostile adults."]

BUT why must any report of such a study, after clearly stating the
results, search till someone is found who dismisses the outcome
sufficiently to erase any impact on many readers? There are always
plenty of "Peds, OB-Gyns, and Psychologists" eager to be quoted in a
publication disclaiming human connection. They could probably have
found a Vet who would posit that perhaps the families had dogs who
snuggled with the children and licked their "boo-boos" which
contributed to the sense of emotional health of the later adults.

The last paragraph, a quote by Dr Brauer, makes me want to scream!
