WE just got the December issue of Scientifc American and the cover article
is on "How Breastmilk protects newborns" by Jack Newman. Parts of it were
a bit too technical for me, but the gist was that breastfeeding provides
immunities for babies that infant formulas can't and they help the baby's
immune system mature faster than formula does. IN all, not much
in the article that most of us haven't known for w while, although it does
describe the exact mechanism by which these ownders take place and I don't know
how well understood those mechanisms were. In any case, it was great to
see this article in Scientific American which is a well respected
journal that reaches a wide range of scientiests from many different
disciplines and professional work places.
Is there a way topost the article on internet or e-mail? Is it
worth doing so?
