I'll chime in here too and state that I have gone a full 24 months pp
with no menses with both children.  Of course LAM  is based on more than
just exclusive breastfeeding..it also has to do with the woman's body
fat, her amounts of night nursing (since prolactin levels are higher at
night) what her definition of 'exclusive breastfeeding' is....
The book "Breastfeeding and Biocultural Perspectives has a wonderful
section all about  breastfeeding and its effect on the menstrual cycle.
