Valerie and Lactnetters,

The United States Breastfeeding Committee's web site is
www.usbreastfeeding.org <http://www.usbreastfeeding.org/> . On the site is
a current list of organizational members, current Leadership team and
committee chairs, several freely downloadable documents developed in support
of US National Health Goals, timely announcements and news, and more. Names
of individual delegates from the member organizations are not posted because
these delegates may change on short notice. I represent the Coalition for
Improving Maternity Services (CIMS) whose web site is www.motherfriendly.org
<http://www.motherfriendly.org/> . Any member of a USBC member organization
may contact their organization and ask for the contact information for that
organization's representative/delegate to the USBC. ILCA is one of ~35 NGO
members. Several US government agencies are also members. Some organizations
distribute news from the USBC to their members through newsletters, web
sites, or other channels.

For those interested in US national BF events and politics, I'd also
encourage visiting NABA (National Alliance for Breastfeeding Advocacy)'s web
site http://www.naba-breastfeeding.org/ and/or subscribing to NABA's
newsletter "Abreast of the Times." Every issue is chock-full of current
news, who's doing what at the national level, and more. Joining NABA gets
you a copy of the newsletter, and your dues support NABA's activities.
Marsha Walker and Barbara Heiser are key leaders in NABA.

For the record, I am a dues-paying member of NABA, LLLI, ILCA, Lamaze
International, and CIMS.
