that have come from breastmilk feeding, not breastfeeding. Something
doesn't smell right there."

This is really it, isn't it, for many folks? That gut feeling that when you
get done watching this, you feel like not feeding at the breast is just
fine, that any little thing that makes you uncomfortable can be fixed by
just using a pump. There is no real attempt to help the mother to make a
truly informed decision, it just plays to those base emotions, like a doctor
talking with a mom in the middle of last-stage hard labor about the
advantages of using an epidural to just ease the pain for a short time. It
just makes so much sense........

It is all about giving moms basic, unbiased information that allows them to
evaluate how the biology of breastfeeding affects the mother and baby and
how what the mother and baby does affects breastfeeding. The Code
acknowledges that there will always be a need for a variety of products. It
also acknowledges the difference between imparting information and using
advertising expertise to influence the public outside the boundaries of
basic information. It is not just about having a good product that performs
a specific purpose. No advertising suggests in any way that using a catheter
to evacuate a bladder is a good alternative to peeing if there is any way
that you can pee on your own. So much of breastfeeding product advertising
implies that using the pump (catheter) is preferable to
breastfeeding(peeing) because breastfeeding (peeing) is just so difficult
and time-consuming.
