Hi Linda, 
Most women who nurse older children do so in  the closet.   A lucky few have 
a community.  I wrote an essay  that appeared in Parents Magazine last month 
called, "I Still  Nurse My 5-Year-Old."  Many, many of the women who wrote me 
said they had  never known anyone else who nursed an only child.  It is a shame 
that women  have to do such a beautiful thing is such isolation.
