<sigh> Okay, here's something I don't enjoy remembering: My father,
wonderful old Cuban pediatrician that he is (currently retired, but not at
the time of this story), basically doesn't know a thing about breastfeeding,
except that it's "best" and women should do it. (He reminds me of something
I believe I once heard G. Palmer say: that telling a woman that "breast is
best", but making it practically impossible for her to breastfeed is like
giving a starving person a potato and not telling them how to cook it. My
dad once told me, while I was nursing one of his grandchildren in front of
him, that he's "too old" to be "seeing this".) I was the only one of his 3
daughters to breastfeed. My younger sister received all the formula my
nephew could ever want for free, for the entire year. Home-delivered.

This happened about 9 years ago. They had offered it to me as well (my son
was born four months prior to hers), but I declined :-) Regina Roig Lane BS
