OK Our moms and babes are NOT separated unless babe has to go to NICU.. We
don't even HAVE an admission nursery...we do all the admission baby stuff!
Soooo what now??? What advice can you give a new mom that will help her be
successful in the long term...I give them thlocal LLL # for where they live,
I tell them to keep baby in their room, which for the most part is done on
PP....and I tell them to wake babe up to nurse at LEAST every 3 hours during
the day...I also explain to them that ththat advice comes with a lot of
knowledge now that before my last baby was born as I was sooo tired, I didn't
wake him up! ( I was DEMAND feeding,,,yes..demand feeding...I don;t have to
wake him up...:) BIG MISTAKE) and it IS hard to wake up a sleeping babe to
nurse when you are exhausted...BUT I tell them it is vital to your milk
coming in and to your supply...AND I tell them the first 2 weeks are the
hardest and if you can get past that...It gets better!!!!!!!!!Anyway...I
can't do an inservice based on what I do...any advice???
