Jennifer has made a point over and over again that the typical American is
deficient in essential fatty acids. This study
confirms it can be improved and breastmilk will benefit. This is just
changing meat and dairy and does not even mention adding more vegetables and
fruits.

Organic meat and dairy linked to better quality breast milk

By Stephen Daniells

25/07/2007 - The breast milk of mothers consuming organic meat and dairy
contains higher levels of beneficial fatty acids, and has an overall
improved quality, suggests new research.

The new study, published in the British Journal of Nutrition, reports that
obtaining at least 90 per cent of dairy and meat products from organic
sources increases levels of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA).

"We show here that the levels of both rumenic acid and trans-vaccenic acid
(TVA) in human breast milk were higher in the case of mothers following a
diet that contained organic dairy and meat products, in comparison with
mothers consuming a conventional diet," wrote lead author Lukas Rist from
Paracelsus Hospital Richterswil in Switzerland.
