Yes there IS a definite link between breast cancer & elective abortion. Dr.
Joel Brind, professor of biology & endocrinology has done extensive research
at Mt Sinai in New York on this connection. Essentially the risk of breast
cancer doubles after ONE elective abortion. To date there are 24 studies
published on the linkage, some good, some not so good. But the link is
established. Note that Louisiana enacted a law that requires abortion
providers to inform women of this link. I realize that you may not be aware
of this info, since you live in Australia (home of my mom's birth!).

My wondering on the issue of elective or spontaneous abortion & milk
production stems from the fact that spontaneous ab's usually involve a
gradual decrease in hormonal levels over time, whereas an elective ab
involves a more abrupt change. Could that impact lactogenesis and mom's
post ab experience? Anyone have any info? I am curious but only
speculating here.

Sorry to keep reviving this issue, but moms need correct, informed consent.
