Just received a call from a mother who is having terrible cramps since
starting using the Pump N Style  for the first time on Wed.  She lives too
far for a visit but gave me the following hx:  Baby exclusively breastfed,
is now 3 months.  Always was slow and weak at breast but from 6lb 110z at
birth to 10lb 12 0z. now.  Nurses every 2-3 hrs. with at least 1 or 2 feeds
during night.  Purchased a pump and pumped 4 oz. Wed. but started severe
cramping.  Spoke with MD, thought it was stomach virus.  Stopped using the
pump and nursed with no cramping Thurs. but Fri. afternoon, pumped again and
was doubled over with pain.  Is now in bed, no bleeding but horrible
cramping, drinking fluids,  temp 101.8.  Taking tylenol and states that
breasts are suddenly flat and empty. Baby can't get anything and cries at
breast.  Doesn't want to bother DR on weekend.  This is her 3rd baby, she is
43 and thinks it might be hormones.  Her menses returned 2 weeks ago, 4 day
flow, no cramping.  Stopped bleeding on the Tues. prior to the first time
she pumped on Wed. That's it.  I have referred her to her Dr. and she will
call him but I also wanted to see if any of you may have an idea of what's
