This is an area of great frustration for me. The evidence for breastfeeding
protecting against breast cancer is overwhelming, and has been recognized
for centuries, and yet it seems that this link still gets very little
attention. I know that in 2002 a huge meta-study (i.e., a study that
evaluated the sizeable body of existing research about this question) found
a strong causal connection. That study was very well-respected, got
headline coverage in national newspapers, etc., but it seems to have been
swept under the rug.

I know that before that study, cancer and breast cancer advocacy groups
refused to mention not breastfeeding as a risk factor for developing breast
cancer because they believed the research was not conclusive.

Now that the research seems to be conclusive, does anyone know if any
advocacy groups have begun mentioning breastfeeding in their literature?
