hello, this is just my view on co-sleeping, but they are some of my sweetest
childhood memories. i remember laying in my moms arms nursing (i weaned at
age 5) her long auburn hair in my hands i even remember the thunderous roar
of my father snoring. it is all these memories that to me mean family so of
course my babies shared a family bed with me. it was also just a fact that i
would nurse my babies, that is what mothers do, that in my mind defined
motherhood. i made that baby on the inside and i would grow him outside too.
with my mom half a planet away i went to my first LLL meeting at 6 weeks
pregnant, i knew i needed to be with women that could help me make it work.
it turned out straight forward and pretty easy going after the nipples
healed( the epidural took way to well, i couldn't feel my breasts for 6
hours, i could barley move my arms for the first feed in the recovery room,
so the corpsman help the baby to my breast and he bit and screamed. (the
baby not the corpsman) my first birth was not ideal with a transverse breach
baby so wedged in my pelvis they had to reach up my vagina to dislodge him
during the c-section. my vbac was much better. its just my opinion and
certainly not right for everyone, but my babies needed to be with me 24/7
and that is okay with me.
