Yet another commentary not supportive of breastfeeding:

http://deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,510047009,00.html

commentary by Bonnie Erbe (she is also the host of the PBS program "To the
Contrary)

Here is the pertinent part:

"Now, on the other end of the wacko perspective, comes this missive
from the West Coast. Last week, women held a "mass nurse-in" in
(sorry, but where else?) Berkeley, Calif. A foreign news network
reported, "To the sounds of slurping, gurgling and the occasional
howl, 684 women and their children held a mass breast-feed in
Berkeley, Calif., to mark World Breast-Feeding Week."
Pardon me for not celebrating this momentous occasion, but
until today I didn't even know it existed. Just shows, it's a good
thing I'm not running for governor of California like the rest of the
world. Perhaps because of the mayhem in Southern California, what
with "Ah-nuld" entering the race and all, only 684 women attended the
slurp-in, way down from last year's record of 1,130. This massive
turnout propelled them into the Guinness Book of World Records.
I'm all for breast-feeding. But breast-feeding in public? Call
me a Luddite. It makes me queasy. Please, go for it. But in the
privacy of your home, a public bathroom or perhaps even your van."
