Jennifer,

Since your second mom mentioned a previous traumatic birth, perhaps she also
suffered a "failed" breastfeeding attempt. The bossy doctor may have a
large role in her attitude towards breastfeeding. The first mom had no
preconceptions/encoumberments and the optimism/determination of youth!

You never know what past influences are at work.

<<She did say she felt much better after this birth than her first (an
induction for
pre-eclampsia and a large episiotomy with 3rd degree extension.) She also
talked lots about her previous doctor who attended her the first time, who
just told her what to do all the time and didn't keep asking her
questions!>>
