Hi everyone,
I work at a hospital as a nurse and Lactation Consultant. The dietician
has started passing out a nutrition information sheet on diet requirements
of the breastfeeding mother. Although it is not restrictive it does give
servings of each food required per day and calorie intake requirements. My
problem with the handout is that it is not given to formula feeding moms as
well and I think this may make some moms feel they can't breastfeed because
they don't eat well. I have looked for info in the archives to present to
the dietician that will support this. Any thoughts or info on this subject?
                                                Thank you,
                                                Terry
