Hi Dr. Gordon,
Nice to have you on lactnet. What about anemia? If she has this it needs to
be corrected. Extra vit C? What about investigating if the mom does any
repetitive exercise involving the upper body? I am not suggesting this is a
problem for everyone, but maybe this mother is very susceptible to
inflammation and a good detective might put their finger on it. Investigate
what the precipitating events were, if any. Good luck. This is almost one
infection per month - pretty lousy for her. What about putting the mother on
low dose chronic antibiotics? I think there is some info on this in our
archives.
