I was wondering how many of you have checked out your local discount house
to do a price comp on abm i'm doing it as consumer updates for our
hospital, admits classes etc. when i reached for the powder cans to read
the fine print i noted that it was hard to find out the number of ounces
the can makes in total mixed abm ie 112 ounces. each brand had a different
price and several cans had different dry weights NOT always 16 ounces with
a differing amount of total mixed fluid so the apparent costs seem lower to
the consumer on several brands why if abm is so critical to the survival of
infants is there no regulation in packaging so that the consumer doesn't
have to break out he magnifying glass to cost compare they reach for the
lowest cost and are at the mercy of the manufactorers to list the amounts
we had an eduacated well spoken immigrant recently mix her infant formula
to stretch it and the baby ended up with kwashiorkor and a malabsorption
problem, hospitalized etc....she was mixing the product with a different
scoop too....... Who does one contact to voice a concern re: this labeling
practice ?????????? I'm appalled even packs of chewing gum have better
labeling than this......you know what you're buying.
