<<<Is it just me or is anyone else frustrated with the return of the single
phase breastpump by a particular company? We are see the "Personal breast
pump" (single phase pump) being distrubuted as an adequate breast pump not
only by the state insurances but now by the private insurances. I cannot
say how this has changed my opinion of that company but moreover what it is
doing to undermine breastfeeding.
We are seeing moms who are loosing their supply or not able to obtain
adequate supply due to the single phase pump. What can be done about this?
I am located in Wisconsin and since the first of the year there are more
and more companies that are now giving this pump because it is less
expensive and passing it off as an adequate pump.>>> Deanne Lawson

I'm in Wisconsin as well and I am seeing these more and more all the time.
A lot of my work is on the phone and I've had to add determining exactly
which pump they are using to my info gathering. I already did that before
but distinguishing between the pumps is more confusing when they are the
same brand.

Someone asked asked how you can tell the pumps apart. These new pumps are
very small, essentially the motor itself w/a small area to put the plug. No
cooler, no place to store plastics. 24mm flanges only, 2 bottles and lids,
no letdown feature. There is vacuum control and an on/off switch. If anyone
is interested in a PDF file pic, email me and I will send it to you.

Moms think they have a great pump and are trying to exclusively pump with
these. Even those pumping part time going back to work are having
difficulties. Not the pump to be using when your baby is in the NICU.

It all comes down to the almightly dollar.
