Dear collegues,

I have a mom here on Guam who was taking a grapefruit seed extract called
Paracan 144 for asthma during her pre-pregnant state. Upon becoming
pregnant, she contacted the manufacturer who told her to discontinue
usage during pregnancy but didn't have any information to offer about
this particular drug and breastfeeding. Mother wants to know if she can
resume taking the drug. The bottle lists no active ingredients so I am
stumped. My inclination is that if it is unsafe for pregnancy, why take
a chance during the nursing relationship? Any thoughts? The company
that markets the drug is called Biophase Systems in Pine Brock NJ. TIA
