Has anyone had any experience with referring clients to an acupuncturist
to increase milk supply?

Oops I lost the name of the poster... anyway...
I learned from mothers I worked with about the local acupuncturist(s). Then
I went and watched a session, with permission of the mom and the
practitioner. It works well because I could hold the baby. :) I was amazed to see
this mom stand up, milk dripping from her breast, when before she was
struggling ( was already doing other things that usually normalize supply.) It
works profoundly with some moms, and does nothing for others. The mom who has
no response to it, or no significant change, had an underlying history
that we think was relevant. She went through a bout of anorexia during the
time she "should " have been going through normal breast development and we
think ( me and the breastfeeding medicine doc who dug deeply in her past)
this meant she just didn't lay down the underpinnings for normal lactation.
Same issue with second baby, but she made about 25-30% supply instead of
15-20 with her first. Devastating...

Peace,
Judy
