Hello listmates,

Today I was browsing and found this site http://www.safebaby.net/home.html .
It is a really good site for tips on childproofing your home, and overall I
was very pleased with the site. The only concern I had was that the
'feedback' section was marked by a graphic of a bottle. I've sent off a note
(see below) to the site owner, asking her to change the graphic, and was
hoping that a few of you could do the same.

FYI, this is a Canadian site, so fellow Canadians especially, lets hear your
voices!

Dear Ms Sklar,

Primarily, I want to compliment you on your marvelous site, 'Safe @ Home'.
The information here is extremely helpful to families and is organized in a
user-friendly manner. Your expertise in this area is clear.

My only concern is the use of a bottle graphic for the feedback section. As
a pediatric nurse, I'm sure that you know about the many hazards of infant
formula (increased risk of respiratory, ear and GI infections, increased
risk of diabetes, crohnes disease, asthma and allergic conditions) and of
bottle use in general (lower oxygen saturation compared to feeding at the
breast, increased risk of aspiration, changes in the shape of the jaw and
palate resulting in greater numbers of bite deformities).

I am a 12 + year obstetrical nurse and a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). One
of the issues that Lactation Consultants are working towards is the
normalization of breastfeeding. Unfortunately, the use of a graphic of a
bottle has the opposite effect and normalizes bottle feeding as the method
of food delivery for babies.

In keeping with the intent of your site, might I suggest that you use an
alternate graphic for the feedback area?

Thank you!
Joan
