To my knowledge , as a former hospital LC, and fervent fighter of ABM freebie
bags, the hospitals get free ABM when they agree to hand out the bags on the
maternity floor. They also get cash donations that fund a lot of programs
that the hospital has. At my facility I remember them paying for the
invitations for our SCN reunion to name but one. I had heard that the
donations were quite significant for other programs as well.
My efforts to rid our unit of the free bags fell on deaf ears, no doubt.
Especially since I was the only soldier in the battle.
