I'm in need of help finding research supporting the benefit of using laser reduction technique for posterior tongue tie/lip tie. Also, who is trained to perform this procedure that is recognized by major insurance carriers. The group of Pediatricians at the hospital where I am a IBCLC is searching to find the best practice for dyads who are failing with BF due to tongue tie issues. I've sent patients to a pediatric dentist who has helped many dyads "fix" their breastfeeding problem with laser technique of tie release, but the pediatricians that I share patients with are leery due to the fact that it is a dentist and not physician doing the procedure. (See reference to L. Kotlow in NY kiddsteeth.com)

I wish to 1) either help them to trust this procedure and professional who is trained to do it by bringing supportive research articles to their attention or, 2) find who within the medical profession is trained to assess, diagnose and fix posterior tongue tie problems, so we can refer patients in need of this help, to them. Comment please
