Could someone please remind me of why we don't use A & D Ointment on
nipples. Petrolatum? A client was using the Polysporin I had suggested.
When she told the nurse at her OBs office-over the phone - she was told to
stop and use A & D Ointment instead. She was also told to use a Nystatin
powder on her nipples and wipe off before feeds. I'm not familiar
withNystatin in a powder form.
Thanks,
Anne Grider, IBCLC
