Yes, having moms educated about what are signs they need 
help, how to get help, and that just because they try 
asking one nurse, LC, or ped. who can't fix the problems 
doesn't mean their breastfeeding is beyond help.

I live with this frustration at WIC all the time, I used 
to tell my clients there, if they felt the need to pick 
up a bottle in the first week, they needed to pick up the 
phone and call me, few did.  

I think some moms truly doen't know that there is good 
help available and if their doctor can't fix it that it 
can't be fixed. (Reason to keep educating the doctors.) I 
think with other women it's the excuse they were looking 
for, they know breastfeeding is "best" but they really 
don't want to be bothered so the "fact" that it didn't 
work lets them off the hook and seeking help is not of 
interest.
