The docs are probalbly saying stop nursing b/c they feel it is running her
down. I have heard this before that bf "takes alot from a woman". I don't
think it has anyting to do w/ exposing the child to it. I would think the
best advice would be cont. bf and do whatever the usual treatment for mono
is ........rest, good nutrition, reduce stress, etc. If it was me, the
weaning would be far more stressful than cont. bf. Just MHO. Ask her to find
out why they are recommending weaning. It is the mom's decision.
