This isn't based on any references I know specifically of. But the policy at
the NICU where the twins were born was while you were there they gave you
jars (in my situation, cases) of sterile water. Your removed the lid dumped
the water and used the lid of the volufeed. When you were discharged and sent
home they gave you the plastic lids and was told to sterilize them at home.
THen, each night they refilled my supply. If I ran out of sterile caps I'd
brought from home during the day, they gave me jars of water again.
