I have to agree with Betsy... we never really know what is going on and
motivating people to do things. Our helping skills teach us to meet the
mothers we work with where they are. I think this goes for everybody, in
every situation. I have been flamed by people who did not know much
about my life, I have been called insensitive by people who
misunderstood what I said without clarifying, and I have participated in
a letter-writing campaign without knowing the facts. Communication is
such a tricky thing! I'm for collecting information, opening dialogue,
trying to stay positive and remembering that I'm not always right...
even if I do get a sick feeling when I see how much Dr. Sears
monopolizes our Group library holdings.
