This article is older than March!! It's been around for a few years and is
a prime example of "bad science"--they just looked at one or two families,
not at the large number of women who have had breast implants. Not a
prospective controlled study nor even a retrospective case-control with
enough subjects to mean anything. (Check out this week's JAMA--contains
info about all the other things women with breast implants may have/do
that may make a difference when studying them.) I wouldn't draw any
conclusions about the safety--or lack of safety--of breastfeeding with
breast implants from this article. I would certainly not advise a woman
with implants against breastfeeding based on this article alone. I'm not
aware of any good science that indicates a problem.
