Hello, Maureen.
I would second Jean's idea that milk leaving the breast, by whatever
means, tells the body to make it again. Over the years, I have seen a number
of mothers who experience leaking due to wearing breast shells for inverted
nipples. Some of those mothers did not have enough milk when they first began
wearing the shells, due to the baby's inability to latch well and tell mom's body
they wanted more milk. But the constant leaking caused these mothers'
supplies increase significantly in just the first 24-48 hours of wearing the shells,
even in cases where the use of the shell did not immediately help baby to
latch better.
I have to wonder if the "other strategies for management" which you
are implementing simultaneously are really the reason for the supply and leaking
to settle down.
