An IBCLC friend working at a tertiary care hospital asked me to post this
for your thoughts:

We are working on protocols to transition preterms from ng to breast. Many
of the moms are not available for more than 2 feedings a day and can only
room in for one 24hr. period prior to discharge.
Hence, we still need to give breastmilk in a bottle because they can't go
home with an NG (unless medically necessary).
The nurse manager would like to have the most appropriate bottle nipples
available in the NICU. She has gotten rid of the red preemie nipples from
R--- (yeh !). For freebies, we are left with the yellow R--- nipples and
G----- silicone slow flow nipples.
Question - lactnetters working with NICU babies, which bottle nipple is the
most appropriate. Open to all suggestions - we can purchase others if
needed.

Please post to the list - thanks!

Gail S. Hertz, MD, IBCLC
