Cynthia, I have written this in the past on LACTNET but will repeat it
regarding your post.  I believe one of the reasons for the increase in Reflux is the
"back to sleep" campaign.  It is pushed so hard in this country that parents
are afraid to place their babies on their stomachs at all.  I try to tell
parents that babies need "tummy time" especially after feedings.  I review with
them the safe way to do this.
I do not believe there is an increase in the number of woman with over
production or over active let downs.
