I wanted to let everyone know the outcome of the situation I posted
earlier regarding an E/R doc classifying b/m as a dairy product.
Well, hold onto your seats and listen to this! It just so
happens that one of the new moms I helped works in the E/R at this
hospital. During a follow up call with her, we began talking
about the b/m being considered a dairy product by a doctor in the
E/R. The upshot of the conversation was that I WAS ASKED TO WRITE
STANDARD DISCHARGE ORDERS FOR BREASTFED BABIES who are released from the
E/R with a gastrointestinal diagnosis. So please HELP! Any suggestions
or examples of such discharge orders would be greatly appreciated.
This hospital has no lc (and says they have no need for any), except the
WIC counselor who works (1 day a week) for a group of family practioners who
run the maternity clinic in space rented in the hospital. The same WIC
counselor who told me when I received my IBCLC, that "her" doctors didn't
care if she was certified or not. So, I'm sure you can understand why
it is so crucial that I present a thorough and professional paper to the
E/R. Maybe my only opportunity to get into the hospital will be through
the E/R.

TIA
