Well, I would be very worried, too. It seems a big part of the puzzle may
be the bowel surgery. That could encompass many things. What was the
surgery for? How was the recovery? Did baby have setbacks, for example,
feeding intolerance or sepsis?

It seems the baby was in hospital from june 8 to july 6? Is that correct?
That is a very long time in hospital. Was baby born premature and with any
other problems or syndrome?

In any event, is it possible to feed baby very frequently? Like every 1.5
to 2 hrs, small quantities to total about 450 mls per 24 hr minimal (37.5
mls every 2 hrs)? Is it possible for mother to wear the baby? Kangaroo
mother care?

Is it possible for mother to increase her milk production to full
breastmilk feeds/breastfeeding? Breastmilk should be better absorbed and
all-around foster good health and growth of the infant.

Finally, are you and this family located near a teaching hospital,
university affiliated? That would be my preference to have baby evaluated
by peds GI and or developmental peds.
