From personal experience, I've noticed that both of my children give off
odors when they nurse, especially around the hair/head. My son gave off a
"coppery" odor that reminded me of (FORGIVE ME for this, but I don't know
how else to describe it) the smell of semen. My daughter gives off a
sour-ish odor that smells kind of like buttermilk. Both odors started out
being unpleasant to me, but they definitely grew on me, and now I actually
like the sour odor my stinky daughter emits. I'm sure it's a smell that I
will always associate with nursing her. :-)
I think it may be their sweat, but I generally only notice it when they're
nursing.
