Leslie asks about preterm infants breastfeeding without bottle use and the 
use of nipple shields with these infants.

We only have a level 2 unit, but never (so far) use bottles before 
breastfeeding.  Our babies go from bolus nasogastric feeds to some 
breastfeeding then to full breastfeeding. Occasionally there is some cup 
feeding.  In the last 3 years I think 2 preterm babies have benefited from 
temporary nipple shield use.
