In late December I posted about a situation with a 4 mo old infant who
wouldn't nurse after multiple oral intrusions, dilation of the nares and
possible neurological impairment.
Guess what? This little guy up and decided to start nursing, New Year's Day.
Mom began offering the breast in the wee hours of the night as he stirred in
his sleep. [yes mom sleeps with this little guy-apnea monitor and all] He
would nurse very briefly at first, now he's nursing 4 or 5 times a day. Mom
is pumping and bottle feeding between and her milk supply has gone way up
after we changed pumps and kits (from the lactina with Medela's disposable
kit to a classic with a double)

Mom hopes it lasts-he due for another dilatation of the nares soon. Keep your
fingers crossed
Marie
